Position Overview
A well-established community financial institution is conducting a confidential search for an experienced and collaborative Assistant Vice President (AVP) Operations Manager to lead and enhance key operational functions.
This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and customer-focused operations while supporting the organization’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring strong management experience, a solid understanding of banking operations, and the ability to lead teams, drive projects, and collaborate effectively across departments.
Deposit Operations experience is required. Treasury Management knowledge is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership & Oversight: Provide leadership and oversight for Deposit Operations and Treasury Management functions, ensuring efficient operations, regulatory compliance, operational accuracy, and exceptional customer service.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and controls that support risk management, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders through proactive communication and effective problem-solving.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Lead strategic initiatives, process improvements, technology enhancements, and organization-wide projects designed to improve efficiency and support broader business goals.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze operational reports, identify trends, and recommend solutions to enhance service quality, mitigate risk, improve processes, and control costs.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop Deposit Operations and Treasury Management staff, including performance management, training, workload delegation, and professional development.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of five years of banking operations experience, preferably within Deposit Operations or Treasury Management.
- At least two years of demonstrated leadership experience in Treasury Management, Banking Operations, or a related financial services environment.
Education & Professional Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation preferred.
Technical & Operational Expertise
- Strong knowledge of electronic banking platforms, operational risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organization-wide projects from planning and implementation through execution and follow-up.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and manage complex projects in a dynamic environment.

Onsite Work Requirement
This position requires regular onsite attendance and is not eligible for remote work during the first year of employment. The successful candidate will be expected to work from the designated office location during normal business hours.
