Director of Distribution Channel Development
Job Description:
We're partnering with an innovative, growth-oriented organization to identify an experienced Director of Distribution Channel Development. This executive leadership position is responsible for developing and optimizing a North American distribution network, cultivating high-performing channel partnerships, and leading strategies that accelerate long-term business growth.
This role is ideal for a strategic executive who has successfully built dealer, distributor, franchise, or channel partner networks and enjoys influencing organizational growth through strong partnerships, operational excellence, and commercial strategy.
What You'll Do
As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will:
- Develop and execute the long-term vision for the North American distribution and dealer network.
- Design and optimize channel strategies, including market expansion, partner segmentation, and network structure.
- Identify, recruit, evaluate, and onboard strategic distribution partners that align with organizational growth objectives.
- Build trusted executive relationships with dealer principals and business owners while serving as a strategic advisor.
- Develop and oversee dealer performance frameworks using KPIs, benchmarking, and data-driven insights.
- Lead enterprise business reviews with key channel partners to evaluate performance and identify future growth opportunities.
- Create and evolve commercial partnership strategies, including contracts, governance models, and negotiation standards.
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Product leadership to ensure an aligned approach to channel success.
- Utilize competitive intelligence and market insights to guide strategic decision-making and identify expansion opportunities.
- Design and implement dealer incentive programs that drive profitability, performance, and customer success.
- Oversee the complete dealer lifecycle, including onboarding, capability development, operational standards, and ongoing performance improvement.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for the dealer development organization.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance, risk management, and consistent operational standards throughout the distribution network.
What We're Looking For
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in distribution channel management, dealer development, commercial leadership, or related fields.
- 5+ years of executive or senior leadership experience leading multi-level teams.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing large-scale channel or go-to-market strategies.
- Experience managing dealer, distributor, franchise, or indirect sales networks.
- Proven record of improving revenue growth, profitability, and partner performance.
- Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing budgets and strategic investments.
